A speaker consisting of an electromagnet called the field coil, through which a direct current flows. 1, record 1, English, - electrodynamic%20speaker

electrodynamic (loud)speaker: Term used in the 50's and 60's to designate loudspeakers using field coils instead of permanent magnets. Fifty years ago, when permanent magnets were less reliable and radios used vacuum tubes, these loudspeakers were convenient. Their field coil had a second vital function, e.g. it formed part of the high-voltage power supply filter network. This is no longer the case with low-voltage solid-state radios using modern permanent-magnet loudspeakers. 3, record 1, English, - electrodynamic%20speaker

4, record 1, French, - haut%2Dparleur%20%C3%A0%20%C3%A9lectroaimant
